The IFF Panama Venues

IFF Panama takes place in four distinct venues throughtout Panama City: Teatro Balboa, the  Pacific Viewpoint in Cinta Costera II, and Cinépolis Multiplaza. Each of these venues offers a unique viewing experience and the opportunity to enjoy a choice selection of some of the finest films in the world.

The 50's reissued at Teatro Balboa

Built by the Panama Canal Company in 1950 to provide entertainment to the residents of so-called Canal Zone of Panama City, the Balboa Theter has a capacity of a thousand locations in an environment that takes the viewer to another moment in time.

In the late seventies, the theater was transferred to the National Institute of Culture, entity that has administered it until today, to give the city of Panama a place to perform a wide range of artistic shows and cinematic projections. Since 2016, the Balboa Theater serves as the main venue for the Panama International Film Festival.

Open-Air Cinema: Mirador del Pacífico (Cinta Costera II)

At the edge of the southern sea, the Mirador del Pacifico is the venue for the free outdoor screenings of the Panama International Film Festival. With a cinematographic selection destined to public of all the ages, the Mirador of the Pacific has become an annual gathering for all the lovers of cinema in one of the most scenic spaces that the city has to offer.

Location: Cinta Costera 2, Avenida Balboa (Avenue).

Cinepolis Multi Plaza Pacific

The movie rooms of the modern Cinépolis complex, located in the striking Multiplaza Pacific shopping center, host thousands of viewers of IFF Panama in a new edition, and together with the rest of the venues they witness the exchange between the public and the directors, actors and other special guests that the festival brings to Panama.

Ricardo J. Alfaro Room (Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Casco Antiguo)

Entering through Plaza Bolívar, next to the headquarters of the Chancellery, is a building of several rooms where the old Javier School once stood. It has been recently renovated, and many rooms celebrate the trajectory of distinguished men. The amphitheater, which will be part of the Festival, bears the name of a diplomat par excellence, Ricardo J. Alfaro.
